Sarah Moon, born in 1941, has developed her personal work around three themes: the transience of beauty, uncertainty, and the passage of time. Fashion, as well as nature, feature prominently in her images, which are always shrouded in a haze of soft focus. Particularly renowned for her Polaroids, her half-tone photographs and her blurred faces, Sarah Moon has published numerous books, among them, with Delpire editions, Coincidences, 1.2.3.4.5 (awarded the Prix Nadar), Dior by Sarah Moon and Dialogue, created in collaboration with Yohji Yamamoto.

She has also directed several feature-length and short films on photography and photographers. Having received numerous accolades for her work, Sarah Moon is exhibited and recognised worldwide. In 2021, the Musée d’Art Moderne de Paris presented PasséPrésent, a retrospective of her work. In 2025, she was awarded the Grand Prix de l’Académie des Beaux-Arts in photography.
