The CST – Commission supérieure technique de l’image et du son, is proud to present its awards list for the 78th Festival de Cannes. The winners are rewarded for the quality of their technical prowess, serving the vision defended by the director.
CST AWARD FOR BEST ARTIST-TECHNICIAN

« The 2025 jury of the CST Award for best Artist-Technician acknowledges the powerful creativity of sound and image in this film, achieved by Ruben Impens, director of photography and Stéphane Thiébaut, mixer, of « Alpha » directed by Julia Ducournau. »
The jury of professionals was equally made up of : Caroline Champetier, director of photography, Yoann Goujon, actor, director and author, Nadine Muse, head sound editor and Guillaume Sciama, head sound technician.
Created in 1951, the CST Award for best Artist-Technician – formerly the Grand Prix Technique – recognises an exceptional contribution by a technical artist to a film in the official competition.

Created in 2021, the CST Award for best Young, Female Film Technician strives to promote professional equality between men and women in the film industry, and underlines the CST’s desire to give visibility to the high-quality cinematographic work produced every year by young female technicians.
