The CST – Commission supérieure technique de l’image et du son, is proud to present its awards list for the 79th Festival de Cannes. The winners are rewarded for the quality of their technical prowess, serving the vision defended by the director.
CST AWARD FOR BEST ARTIST-TECHNICIAN

The jury of professionals comprises Alice Cambournac, costume designer (AFCCA); Bertrand Cocteau, head of programming; Yolande Decarsin, head sound engineer; Jean-Marie Dreujou, cinematographer (AFC, ASC); Lise Fischer, VFX supervisor; and Laure Gardette, chief editor.
Created in 1951, the CST Award for best Artist-Technician – formerly the Grand Prix Technique – recognises an exceptional contribution by a technical artist to a film in the official competition.

« Underlining the undeniable merits of both films, the 2026 jury for the CST Award for best Young Female Film Technician decided to award the prize to “The Birthday Party”, with set design by Esther Mysius. Her meticulous attention to detail allows the sets to become an integral part of the narrative. »
Created in 2021, the CST Award for best Young, Female Film Technician strives to promote professional equality between men and women in the film industry, and underlines the CST’s desire to increase the visibility of the high-quality cinematographic work produced every year by young female technicians.
